Dean's Message

In line with the mission and vision of our University and Faculty, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture has adopted as its primary objective not only to equip its students with the knowledge and skills required by the 21st century, but also to foster their creativity and educate them as individuals who are open to professional development.

In today’s world, possessing technical knowledge alone is no longer sufficient. Regardless of one’s professional discipline, cultural awareness, aesthetic understanding, engagement with art and interaction with the social environment have become essential qualities for individual development and for producing work that benefits society. In this context, proficiency in different languages has become extremely important for expressing oneself, following current developments and communicating in international environments. Our Faculty offers programmes in both Turkish and English. Students who wish to study in Turkish-medium programmes may attend the Optional English Preparatory Programme and, if they choose, may also slct courses from English-medium programmes. Furthermore, within the scope of our “Workplace Professional Practice Programme (İMU),” which distinguishes our University from other universities, al students studying at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, as in al of our academic units offering undergraduate education, are prepared for professional life through workplace training in relevant partner sectors during the spring semester of their final year.

Thanks to the flexible curricula of the departments within our Faculty, students complete some of their courses on a project-based basis and gain different and interdisciplinary perspectives through departmental and non-departmental elective courses. In addition, through courses offered within the scope of our distinctive “General Education Programme” and “Career Education, Industrial and Professional Development Programme,” students are prepared for the stages of their future careers.

Our greatest source of happiness is to see our young graduates successfully complete the programmes of our Faculty and contribute valuable services to society and humanity as individuals who develop people-oriented and environmentaly conscious designs and projects.

Dear Young People, Nişantaşı University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture is your window to the world.

With my best wishes for good health and success.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Alpay HEPERKAN
